Minnesota Wins 11 Titles at Hamline

The Gophers won claimed six titles while the Maroon & Gold men added another five wins at the Meet of the UnSaintly.

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Golden Gopher track & field program won eight events and unattached Gophers collected another three titles at the Meet of the UnSaintly hosted by Hamline University on Saturday. The competition marked the final tune-up meet for the Maroon & Gold before next weekend's Big Ten Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
 
Women's Highlights
Three Gopher women won titles to lead the Maroon & Gold while Minnesota's unattached women added three more event crowns.

On the track, Carissa Dock won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:50.68 ahead of runner-up Tate Sweeney in 11:19.01.

Karlie Place won pole vault with a mark of 3.97 meters (13-00.25 ft.) while Lexi Kiefer finished as runner-up at 3.82 meters (12-06.25 ft).
 
The Gophers shined in the throws led by Temi Ogunrinde winning hammer throw with a toss of 62.99 meters (206-08 ft.). Erin Dunning finished as discus runner-up with a throw of 46.64 meters (153-00 ft.) while Tess Keyzers was shot put runner-up with a mark of 15.70 meters (51-06.25 ft.).
 
Two Gophers combined to win three events while competing unattached as well. Nayoka Clunis won both shot put (16.37 meters, 53-08.50 ft.) and discus (50.92 meters, 167-01 ft.) and finished as runner-up in hammer throw (56.65 meters, 185-10 ft.) while Candesha Scott won javelin (45.30 meters, 148-07 ft.).
 
Men's Highlights
The Maroon & Gold men added five titles at Hamline's Meet of the UnSaintly, the program's final tune-up before the Big Ten championships next weekend in Iowa City. 

The Gophers finished 1-2 in the men's pole vault including Mike Herauf's win -- tying his personal record at 5.05 meters (16-06.75 ft.) -- while John Uchytil set a new outdoor personal record to finish second at 4.90 meters (16-00.75 ft.). Meanwhile, James Travis won the triple jump at 13.90 meters (45-07.25 ft.) while Ben Gucinski won the high jump at 1.96 meters (6-05.00 ft.). 

Kaleb Siekmeier won his fourth discus throw title of the season at 53.30 meters (174-10 ft.) while also finishing as the runner-up in the men's hammer throw at 54.66 meters (179-04 ft.). 

On the track, Seth Eliason won the 800 meters at 1:55.86.

Jonathan Tharaldsen and Eric Rousemiller, finished second and third, respectively, in the men's shot put.
