Gophers Wrap Up Day Two of Bruin Diving Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS – Sophomore Joy Zhu secured a third place finish in the women's 3-meter springboard on Saturday as the Minnesota diving program concluded competition at the Bruin Diving Invitational.
 
Zhu totaled a combined score of 628.60 through prelims and finals to earn third place in the women's 3-meter. The sophomore was joined in qualifying for finals by freshman Jaclynn Fowler, who placed sixth in the 3-meter (600.45).
 
Zhu and Fowler's respective finishes of third and sixth in the 3-meter came from a field of 49 divers.
 
Junior Maxim Royzen produced the top performance for the Gopher men in the platform diving competition. After qualifying for finals with a score of 279.15, Royzen went on to finish ninth overall on the platform (558.75).
 
Minnesota is set to return to home following day two and will not participate in the invitational's third and final day.
 
Up Next
The Maroon and Gold have next weekend off before trekking to West Lafayette, Ind. to take on Purdue and Northwestern in a Big Ten Conference tri-dual (Jan. 31-Feb. 1).
