Minneapolis, MN. - The newly-ranked Gophers handled the Badgers in the 128th meeting of the two sides.
#47 ranked Minnesota (2-3) extends their lead in the all-time series to 69-56-3 while Wisconsin (1-5) drops their third straight match.
Doubles Play
The Gophers battled to earn the point 2-1. Lenard Soha and Mihailo Popovic of Wisconsin took down Dylan Heap and Daniel Martin to put the Badgers up. However, the pairings of Troost/Lobak and Vile/Allen each took care of business 6-3 to secure the point for the home side.
Singles Play
Sebastian Vile led the way for the Maroon & Gold as he grabbed a straight-set victory on Court 1 to gain a 2-0 lead. The Badgers clawed back a point with a straight-set victory by Jared Pratt over Siim Troost on Court 5.
Sophomore Daniel Martin secured a straight-set victory over Mihailo Popovic on Court 6 to put the Gophers one victory away from clinching. Senior Vlad Lobak put it away for the 'U' as he won both sets in tiebreakers. Senior Jackson Allen won in a three-set thriller on Court 3, while Dylan Heap fell to Gabriel Huber to finish the match at 5-2.

Minnesota is back in action Friday Mar. 12 on the road against Nebraska. The match is scheduled for an 5:00 p.m. start.
