Kaleb Siekmeier, Phillipe Barnett, and Tess Keyzers punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships on Friday.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Gophers Phillipe Barnett, Kaleb Siekmeier, and Tess Keyzers punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships on Friday at the NCAA West Preliminary before the evening's events were postponed until Saturday due to inclement weather.
Barnett and Siekmeier finished among the top 12 qualifying positions in the men's discus competition. Barnett used a throw of 58.48m (191-10 ft.) to place third while Siekmeier took 11th with a mark of 56.38m (185-00 ft.).
The women's hammer throw competition concluded Friday morning, and Keyzers finished 11th to advance to the NCAA Championships with a throw of 61.70m (202-05 ft.).
An updated schedule for Saturday is expected to include the remaining men's events along with the final day of women's competition in College Station, Texas.
