Swim and Dive Hosts St. Thomas, South Dakota State

MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota women's and men's swimming and diving teams, both ranked No. 25 in the CSCAA rankings, return to action Friday at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center as they welcome St. Thomas and South Dakota State for a tri-dual meet.
Action starts Friday at 5 p.m. and admission is free. A stream of the event can be found on B1G+ (paid subscription required), while live scoring will be available on GopherSports.com and the Meet Mobile app (paid subscription required).
Minnesota will honor its seniors in a pre-meet ceremony beginning at 4:45 p.m.
The Gopher women are 3-0 on the dual meet season with victories over Nebraska, South Dakota and SMU.
Junior Megan Van Berkom has been the top performer for the women this season, posting the top time in three separate events: 200 fly (1:59.44), 200 IM (2:01.33) and 400 IM. Her time of 4:16.69 in the 400 IM recorded against SMU was the first NCAA 'B' cut of the season for the women.
Sophomore Hannah Cornish (100 and 200 free) and fifth-year seniors Kate Sullivan (500 and 1000 free) and Joy Zhu (1- and 3-meter diving) have also posted the fastest times in multiple events. In fact, Zhu is the two-time reigning Big Ten Diver of the Week for her efforts.
In addition, fifth-year senior captain Olivia Bloomer (50 free), senior Emma Lezer (100 breast), junior Paula Rodriguez Rivero (200 back) and freshmen Grace Drabot (200 breast), Faith Johnson (100 back) and Ava Yablonski (100 fly) all have the top times in their respective events.
The Minnesota men are also undefeated on the young season, scoring victories against South Dakota and SMU.
Junior Kaiser Neverman can lay claim to being the top Gopher performer in four events so far this season with the 100 (44.42) and 200 free (1:38.58), as well as the 100 (47.80) and 200 fly (1:48.5).
Fellow junior William Christenson is right behind Neverman with the fastest times in three events: 1000 free and 200 and 400 IM.
Fifth-year senior captain Max McHugh has posted both 'B' cuts on the men's side, doing so in the 100 breast and 200 breast. Fellow captain, senior Desmon Sachtjen, has the backstroke covered with the fastest times in the 100 and 200.
In addition, redshirt junior Lucas Farrar (50 free) and sophomore Bar Soloveychik (500 free) have top billing in their own events.
