MINNEAPOLIS -- The Gopher rowing program is back in action this weekend with the 2022 Big Ten Rowing Championships on Sunday, May 15 at the Indianapolis Rowing Center in Indianapolis, Ind.

Rewind: 2021 Big Ten Rowing Championships
Led by All-Big Ten selections Lauren Burrows-Cheng and Lindsay Eliasen in the First Varsity Eight boat, the No. 16 Gopher rowing program finished sixth at the 2021 Big Ten Rowing Championships last year at the Indianapolis Rowing Center. The Maroon & Gold totaled 80 points at the conference competition.
Academic Excellence
The Gophers set academic records for Academic All-Big Ten honorees (42), Big Ten Distinguished Scholars (23), CRCA Scholar Athletes (14) and team cumulative GPA (3.50) last season during the 2020-21 campaign, and things have only improved so far in 2021-22 as Minnesota improved its team cumulative GPA record to 3.54 in Fall 2021.
Gophers Name Trio of Captains
The University of Minnesota rowing program and head coach Alicea Strodel have announced team captains for the 2021-22 season with Lindsay Eliasen, Gabby Mullally and Casey Wempner leading the Maroon & Gold. Eliasen and Mullally return as captains for the second-straight year while Wempner joins the leadership group this year.
