Last Time Out
The Maroon and Gold turned in a pair of second-place results April 8 during an abbreviated Big 10 & Big 12 Double Dual in Kansas City, Kan. Both the first varsity eight and second varsity eight boats covered the 2,000-meter course in second place to pace Minnesota for the day at Wyandotte County Lake.

Gopher Captains Named
Minnesota announced that seniors Isabella Bejaran (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) and Harriet Haege (Orange, New South Wales, Australia) were named team captains for the 2022-23 season. Both captains are entering their fourth year with the Maroon and Gold and were on the First Varsity Eight boat during the Gophers' fifth-place result at the 2022 Big Ten Championship.

California Training
The Gophers made two separate trips to California in early 2023 in order to prepare for the championship season. The first was in January before classes got in session as the Maroon and Gold traveled to San Diego for a week of training. The team flew out to Chula Vista in early March for more intense preparation, including a scrimmage against Gonzaga.

Next on the Docket
Minnesota heads into the 2023 Big Ten Championship set for May 14 in Indianapolis, Ind., at the Indianapolis Rowing Center. The Maroon and Gold look to improve on last year's seventh-place finish at the event. For more information about the B1G Championship, click HERE.
