MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota women's swimming and diving team begins their postseason schedule this week with the 2024 Big Ten Championships, Wednesday through Saturday, in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Big Ten Championships will be streamed via BTN+ (subscription required) and live results can be found on Gophersports.com and the Meet Mobile app (subscription required).
A daily schedule, plus streaming links, ticket information and more can be found at the Big Ten's Championships Central.
The Golden Gophers are coming off of a fifth-place finish in 2022-23 after placing sixth in the previous three years.
Minnesota, which finished 10-1 in dual meets this year, recorded 42 NCAA 'B' cuts and 60 qualifying dive scores during the regular season.
Eight Gophers have secured NCAA 'B' cuts in multiple events this year.
Senior Megan Van Berkom leads the way with 'B' cuts in four events: 500 Free (4:42.63), 200 Fly (1:54.78), 200 IM (1:58.02) and 400 IM (4:04.36).
Freshmen Morgan Thomas and Katie McCarthy join Van Berkom as the only Gophers to get NCAA 'B' cuts in more than two events. Thomas swam the cut in the 50 Free (22.59), 100 Free (49.16) and 100 Fly (53.04), while McCarthy got it in the 500 Free (4:44.79), 1650 Free (16:11.89) and 400 IM (4:14.46).
Hannah Cornish (50 and 100 Free), Grace Drabot (200 Breast and 400 IM), Eliot Kennedy (500 Free and 1650 Free), Claire Reinke (100 and 200 Fly) and Paula Rodriguez Rivero (100 and 200 Back) make up the list of Gophers swimming 'B' cuts in two events.
On top of the swimming performances, six Minnesota divers have earned NCAA Diving Zones qualifying scores in multiple events. Sophomore Vivi Del Angel has notched qualifying scores in all three diving events. Addie Albrecht, Av Osero, Megan Phillip and Elna Widerstrom have earned the qualification in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, while Kate LaMonica has hit the mark in the 3-meter and platform.
