From Head Coach Alicea Strodel's Desk
"We left Tennessee with a clear next step in all of our lineups," Strodel said. "Travelling this weekend to race Ohio State, Indiana, and Oregon State allows us to respond and implement that next step against strong competition. This is a young group with many first years in leadership positions within the lineups. I anticipate that we will continue to grow and get better with every racing opportunity."
Earned a Weekly Honor
The Maroon and Gold's First Varsity Boat was recognized as the Big Ten Conference Boat of the Week March 19 after taking down Gonzaga by more than three seconds. It was the fastest time of the day, 6:36.46, from the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center and sealed the dual win over the Bulldogs. It was the first weekly award for the Golden Gophers since April 27, 2021, when the First Varsity Eight earned the same weekly award.
Last Time on the Water
Minnesota traveled to nationally-ranked Tennessee March 29 and finished second in all four races in which it competed. Racing at Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn., the Maroon and Gold battled in the early-season dual against the 16th-ranked Volunteers.
