TULSA, Okla. -- The University of Minnesota men's tennis team concluded its ITA Central Regional tournament run after Jackson Allen fell in the semifinals to a home-court competitor.

Jackson Allen kicked the final day of competition off with a semifinals dual against the eventual tournament singles runner-up and 39th nationally ranked individual, Majed Kilani of Tulsa. Despite his extraordinary tournament run which included wins against three Regionally seeded opponents and the No. 16 singles player in the country, Allen would be edged out by Kilani by a score of 2-6, 3-6. Allen's semifinals qualification would mark his best finish at the ITA Regional tournament since joining the Gophers' roster last year.

Including Allen's streak, the Gophers were additionally the most well represented team among singles action with three Maroon and Gold members making it to the Round of 16 or further (Allen, Krstanovic and Milicevic). With this year's finish, this marks back-to-back years that Josip Krstanovic has advanced to the Round of 16 at the ITA Regional. Despite a Round of 8 elimination by the eventual singles champion, Kareem Allaf, Stefan Milicevic went the distance with some of the best and marked consecutive years of reaching the quarterfinals or further at the Regional Championship.

The Gophers' well get a well-deserved week off of competition and pick back up action at home with their annual Gopher Invitational which is set to take place at Baseline Tennis Center from Nov. 2-4, 2018.
