Minnesota Hosts Gopher Invite This Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --The University of Minnesota Men's Tennis Team will host the Gopher Invitational from Nov. 2-4, with a total of 11 teams competing. This tournament, hosted at the Baseline Tennis Center, is Minnesota's first and only home event for the fall season.
Tournament Details
Minnesota will host Dartmouth, Denver, DePaul, Drake, Marquette, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Utah, and Wisconsin over the weekend for a three day tournament. Play will start Friday Nov. 2 at 9 am. Play will continue on Saturday Nov. 3 and Sunday Nov. 4 at 8 am. Minnesota placed third in last years tournament.
Last Time Out
The Gophers had successful run at the ITA Central Regional Tournament in Tulsa, Okla., with three members of the Maroon and Gold advancing to the Round of 16. Sophomore Jackson Allen earned a 6-4, 6-4 sweep over No. 16 ranked Aleksandre Bakshi of Oklahoma, eventually falling in the semifinals.
Allen was joined in the Round of 16 by senior Josip Krstanovic, who has now made consecutive trips to the ROund of 16 in 2017 and 2018, and junior Stefan Milicevic, who won last years singles competition.
