Milicevic Competes in ITA All-American Singles Tournament

Stefan Milicevic headed out on a solo trip to the ITA All-American singles tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma this weekend. In the Round of 64 on Thursday, Milicevic managed to take his first set 6-3 against Oradini of Missippi State, but ultimately fell in three sets with a final score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Milicevic will compete in the consolation bracket beginning at 11 am Friday, where he will face off against Brian Cernoch of North Carolina. Updates on Stef's weekend in Tulsa will be posted on Gophersports.com and our Twitter page when available.

Milicevic fought hard in a three-set battle with Cernoch, but ultimately fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-0. Although he went 0-2 for the weekend, Milicevic played against some of the toughest competition in the nation in the ITA All-American tournament, according to associate head coach Urban Ljubic.
"The All-American Tournament is filled with the best players in the country. Stefan played well, but also felt rusty at times," Ljubic said. Against some of the best players, high levels of tennis need to be consistent throughout the match. We'll work harder to get better for our next tournament, which is the ITA Regionals, again in Tulsa."
Milicevic and the rest of the Gophers will be in action again in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the ITA Regional Tournament on October 18-22.
