No. 18 Gophers Face Iowa at Home Friday, Nebraska Away Sunday

MINNEAPOLIS - The No. 18 University of Minnesota Men's Tennis Team (12-1, 1-0 Big Ten) will face Iowa at Baseline Tennis Center Friday at 6 pm, then will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to face the Cornhuskers Sunday at Noon.
RANKED GOPHERS
Following Minnesota's Bye Week, the Gophers actually fell three spots on the NCAA rankings, and are now firmly placed at No. 18, after being ranked No. 15 the week prior. Senior Josip Krstanovic came in at No. 47 in the national singles rankings, while Krstanovic and partner Justyn Levin came in at No. 74 in the doubles rankings.
LAST TIME OUT
Prior to Minnesota's Bye Week and Spring Break spent training in Arizona, the Gophers earned a 4-3 win over next-door-neighbor Wisconsin. The match came down to the final singles match-up in the No. 1 spot, where Krstanovic came up clutch with a 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 win over Osgar O'Hoison.

Iowa (10-4, 1-0 Big Ten) are 1-3 on the road coming into their dual with Minnesota, and are coming off a 6-1 loss to No. 29 Arizona. The Hawkeyes are led by Kareen Allaf, a redshirt junior who plays in the No. 1 spot for both singles and doubles. Allaf won 19 singles matches and 22 doubles matches last season, good for fourth in program history.
Nebraska (8-9, 0-2 Big Ten) have struggled up to this point n the season, losing to Drake, Wichita State and Wisconsin, all teams that Minnesota bested. Nebraska most recently beat Loyola Marymount 4-3 in their last dual. The Huskers are led by Ham Lake, Minnesota native Toby Boyer. Boyer earned 26 singles victories last spring, good for fourth in program history.
