Big Ten Honors 130 Gophers for Fall Academics

MINNEAPOLIS – The Big Ten Conference has awarded 130 University of Minnesota student-athletes Academic All-Big Ten honors for the fall season, the conference announced on Wednesday. The 130 selections for the Maroon & Gold are a school record for the fall season.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten merits, student-athletes must be on a varsity team, have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Five University of Minnesota programs featured Academic All-Big Ten selections for the fall season with football boasting 70 followed by 22 from women's cross country, 19 from soccer, 11 from men's cross country and eight from volleyball.
McKenna Buisman (soccer), Bethany Hasz (women's cross country), Megan Hasz (women's cross country), Ko Kieft (football), Sydney Kretlow (women's cross country), Conner Olson (football) and Bailey Schoenfelder (football) led the way for the Maroon & Gold as seven student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.
