The Gopher men's tennis team travels to the East Coast this weekend for a pair of Ivy League matchups, starting first with a match at Dartmouth College on Feb. 7 starting at 4:30 p.m. CST. The Maroon & Gold's second match of the weekend will take place on Sunday, Feb. 9 at Yale University, with a match start time of 11 a.m. CST.
Minnesota is coming off of an impressive weekend in which the Gophers swept Auburn University in singles to propel them to a 6-1 victory over the Tigers, and then followed it up with a come from behind win against Alabama, defeating the Crimson Tide 4-3.
This weekend's slate of matches is a challenging one for the Gophers, as both of the upcoming opponents hold undefeated team records early in the spring season. The Dartmouth College Big Green currently sit with a 6-0 team record, with some of their highlight wins coming against the Alabama Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers. Yale, having only played two spring dual matches so far, holds a record of 2-0, with their two wins being over Boston College and Boston University.
"Dartmouth and Yale will be good tests for us," head coach Geoff Young said. "It's a short week for us, but I know the guys are excited to play such a strong team as Dartmouth."
