Minnesota will come back to Baseline Tennis Center next weekend.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota men's tennis team took the final three singles matches to secure a 4-3 comeback victory over Penn State on Sunday afternoon.

The win pushes the Gophers to 5-4 on the season, while Penn State will drop to 3-5 after their fifth loss to ranked opponents on the year.

Doubles Play
Siim Troost and Vlad Lobak secured the Gophers only doubles win on the day, as they defeated the pairing of Tim Ruetzel and Charl Morgan by a score of 6-4.

In the final doubles match, Jackson Allen and Sebastian Vile dropped a tough 7-6 match to the No. 40 doubles pairing of Christian Lakoseljac and Christos Antonopoulos, which secured the doubles point for the Nittany Lions. Bodin Zarkovic and Daniel Martin also dropped their match by a score of 6-4.

Singles Play
Jackson Allen got the Gophers on the board first with a straight set victory over Christian Lakoseljac, 6-4, 6-3. Sebastian Vile and Vlad Lobak would then drop their matches to pull Penn State within one point of clinching.

The trio of Dylan Heap, Bodin Zarkovic, and Siim Troost had other plans however, as they would win the next three matches to bring the Gophers back and complete the comeback win. Heap and Zarkovic won in straight sets, while Troost would come back in three sets after dropping set one.

Notable:
Vlad Lobak and Siim Troost are on a six-match win streak in doubles with Sunday afternoon's win. The win also secures the doubles pairing their 10th win on the season.

Quotable:
"Weird match today in very tough conditions," head coach Geoff Young said. "Penn State has a good team. I was happy with our perseverance and refusal to give in. Looking forward to Purdue this Friday."

What's Next?
The Gophers will play the final two matches of their four-game home stand next weekend, taking on Friday, March 26, followed by Indiana on Sunday, March 28.
