MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota men's tennis team rolled to a 5-2 match victory on Friday afternoon against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, as the Golden Gophers secured the first five points of the match to clinch the win.

The match was also Senior Day for the Maroon & Gold, as the team's three graduating seniors, Kaleb Dobbs, Jackson Allen, and Vlad Lobak, were recognized for their success as a part of the Minnesota men's tennis program. Head Coach Geoff Young was also honored for his 15-year tenure with the Gophers.

Minnesota will jump to 9-6 on the season after Friday's victory, while Nebraska will falter to 1-14 after dropping their season finale at Baseline Tennis Center.

Doubles Play
After Vlad Lobak and Bodin Zarkovic fell in their doubles match to kick off Friday's action, the remaining two Minnesota pairings were able to storm back and secure the doubles points in two close matches.

Jackson Allen and Sebastian Vile kicked off the Gophers with a 7-5 victory over Nebraska's Victor Moreno Lozano and Brandon Perez, then Kaleb Dobbs and Siim Troost clinched the point with a 7-5 match win of their own over Husker pairing of William Gleason and Patrick Cacciatore.

Singles Play
After taking the lead in doubles, the Maroon & Gold never looked back, storming out of the gates in singles play with four straight victories to secure the dual win.

Sebastian Vile put the first singles win on the board for Minnesota, dominating his match in straight sets by a score of 6-0, 6-1.

Then, Jackson Allen and Vlad Lobak secured straight set victories of their own almost simultaneously, as the pair of victories would clinch the dual for the Gophers.

Daniel Martin was the last Gopher to take a victory on the afternoon, as he won his second-set tiebreaker to claim the 6-1, 7-6 victory over Nic Wiederhorn.

Dylan Heap and Siim Troost both dropped their matches to close out the dual, with Heap dropping a third-set super-tiebreaker, and Troost falling in straight sets.

Quotable:
"Very happy that the 3 seniors were the ones to clinch the dual match today," head coach Geoff Young said. "I'm proud of this team and what they have accomplished so far. Big thanks to all the alums and the Baseline Club Board for coming out this afternoon to support us.  It was a wonderful feeling seeing all the alumni together with our team uniting, sharing in what were the best of times for them.  The relationships we've made over the years here will always be cherished."
