'U' Closes Shortened Regatta in Kansas

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Golden Gophers rowing team turned in a pair of second-place results Saturday during an abbreviated Big 10 & Big 12 Double Dual in Kansas City, Kan.
Both the first varsity eight and second varsity eight boats covered the 2,000-meter course in second place to pace Minnesota for the day. They ended behind only nationally-ranked Iowa in those two races from Wyandotte County Lake.
The event was originally scheduled to feature double duals with Iowa, Kansas, and Oklahoma, but potential weather forced it to be shortened into all teams competing against each other at once.
