Maroon & Gold Set to Take on Wisconsin in Friday Border Battle

MINNEAPOLIS ā The University of Minnesota swimming and diving programs will hit the road to take on conference foe Wisconsin on Friday, Nov. 1. The Gopher men's squad is currently ranked No. 18 by CSCAA, while the women are No. 23. Wisconsin's men's program currently ranks at No. 23 and its women's program ranks at No. 15.
The meet at Soderholm Family Aquatic Center is part of Kyle Sockwell's Dual Meet Tour. Diving will start at 5 p.m. and the 1000 free at 5:30 p.m. The rest of the meet will begin at 6:15 p.m. with the 200 medley relay. Doors open for the event at 4:30 p.m. The meet will be streamed on B1G+.Ā
Both Gopher programs remain undefeated on the season thus far. The men's team sits at 4-0 overall and will face their first Big Ten opponent in Wisconsin. The women are 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the Big Ten.Ā
The Gophers are coming off of an impressive tri-dual meet versus South Dakota State and St. Thomas. Diver YuTong Wang set a school record in the 1-meter with a score of 435.15. In the pool, seniors Joey Tepper, Josh Johnston, and Kaiser Neverman picked up two individual wins to pace the men. Sophomores Anja Kaljevic, Jade Roghair, and Mina Kaljevic paced the women with two individual wins each.Ā
The Wisconsin women's team sits at a 2-1 record after beating Green Bay in the season opener as well as Notre Dame in a triangular but falling to Michigan. The men's team is 1-1 overall with a win over Green Bay and a loss to Michigan.
