The 'U' had 12 event titles, nine personal-bests and six new top-10 marks on Saturday.

MINNEAPOLIS – The Golden Gophers track and field program sent student-athletes to compete at the Drake Relays (Des Moines, Iowa), Desert Heat Classic (Tucson, Ariz.) and Rider/Bolstorff Invite (Macalester College) on Saturday. Throughout the three meets, Minnesota took home 12 event titles, nine personal-bests and six new top-10 marks.

Desert Heat Classic
Most of Minnesota's team headed down to the University of Arizona to compete at the Desert Heat Classic. The 'U' had some big time performances, including multiple personal records and a number of top-10 all-time performances. The day started with the field events in the mid-afternoon, where Alliyah McNeil finished third in the women's long jump with a Gopher-best distance of 6.40 meters/21-0 ft., a mark that tied for No. 4 all-time in school history. In the women's pole vault, Alexys Berger placed second with a height of 4.27 meters/14-0 ft., which was her fourth top-3 finish this spring. Diarra Sow highlighted the group with a first place finish and a No. 3 mark all-time in the triple jump. She went 13.43 meters/44-0.75 ft., a new personal-record. Brooke Moore took fourth with a mark of 12.87 meters/42-2.75 ft., the second-best showing of her career.

On the men's side Charles Godfred won the men's long jump with a mark of 7.98 meters/26-2.25 ft. for his third long jump title this outdoor season. Jak Urlacher took home his first event title this spring with a pole vault of 5.27 meters/17-3.5 ft. Hakeem Ford placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 14.68 meters/48-2 ft. The freshman earned a new personal-best mark with his performance.

It was a busy night on the track for Minnesota, paced by several top-10 performances. In the women's 100 meter dash, Odell Frye took fourth with a time of 11.33 while Victory Godah placed 10th (11.53). Godah also placed eighth in the women's 200 meter with a time of 23.55, her third best score of the year. In the 100 meter hurdles, Zariyah Black (13.44) took sixth while teammate Maja Maunsbach (13.46) was right on her heels in seventh. Jayla Campbell's sixth place performance (53.75) highlighted the performance of four Gophers in the women's 400 meter race while Brooke Jaworski (2:05.35) set a new personal-best and the No. 3 all-time mark at Minnesota in the women's 800 meter. She placed third in the meet. The night capped off with a terrific performance from Minnesota's 4x100m relay team of Odell Frye, Victory Godah, Zariyah Black and Janielle Josephs, who placed seventh with a time of 44.40. The time went down as No. 4 all-time in Gopher laurels.

For the men, the top performance of the night came from the 4x100 meter relay team of Charles Godfred, Devin Augustine, Finn Schirmer and Gary Afram. They came in sixth with a time 39.60, which ranks No. 3 all-time in Minnesota history. In the men's 100 meter dash, Devin Augustine had yet another first place finish with a time of 10.20. It was his third first place finish in the event this spring. He broke the school record in the event (10.02) last weekend at LSU. Other placers included Gary Afram (28th, 10.57), Finn Schirmer (42nd, 10.73) and Dante White (49th, 10.80). For the 110 meter hurdles, Christian Martin delivered another standout performance with a 10th place finish at 13.98. He missed his PR by just .02, which he did last week at LSU (No. 3 all-time). Ramy Ayoub had a big time showing at the men's 400 meter race, delivering a new personal-best with a time of 46.92. He finished 12th in the event.
