Minnesota faces Iowa and Nebraska in a three-team meet hosted by the Huskers on Saturday.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota track & field team is back in action this weekend when the Golden Gophers travel to Lincoln, Neb., to take on Big Ten Conference foes Iowa and host Nebraska in a three-team meet on Saturday.

Action is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. CT at the Huskers' Bob Devaney Sports Center. Women's shot put, women's long jump, women's pole vault, and women's 5,000 meters are the first events of the day.

Last Time Out
The Golden Gophers combined for 10 event titles at the season-opening Hawkeye Border Battle last weekend. The men and women each earned five titles to kick off the season, including sweeping the mile, 200-meter, and 3,000-meter titles. All five of the women's titles were won on the track while the Gopher men swept the throws along with picking up three titles on the track. Amira Young (200 meters), Val Larson (400 meters), Sophie Schmitz (1,000 meters), Erin Reidy (mile), Bethany Hasz (3,000 meters), Kion Benjamin (200 meters), Alec Basten (mile), Khalid Hussein (3,000 meters), Kyle Atkinson (shot put), and Phillipe Barnett (weight throw) won their respective events to lead the Maroon & Gold.

Bethany Hasz was named the USTFCCCA National Track Athlete of the Week and Big Ten Conference Track Athlete of the Week this week following her performance in the 3,000 meters at the season-opening Hawkeye Border Battle. Hasz's time of 9:24.49 leads the nation so far this season. In addition, Alec Basten was named B1G Co-Track Athlete of the Week after clocking a career-best 4:03.36 mile to move into seventh in Gophers' history.
