Gophers' 1N8 boat shines again in Kansas
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The University of Minnesota rowing team picked up five race wins on the final day of competition of the Big 12/Big Ten Double Duel Saturday morning in Kansas City, Kan.

The Golden Gophers battled a head wind and strong gusts all morning in the 2,000-meter event and won all five heats against Kansas State to begin the day on Wyandotte County Lake. The Maroon and Gold got things started in dominant fashion as the second varsity four boat cruised to an 18-second win over the Wildcats before the rest of the varsity squad won the next three races.

The first novice eight crew tallied its third victory of the spring season as it took down K-State by more than 10 seconds, giving the Gophers their fifth win Saturday. Minnesota also had its second novice eight boat finish its first weekend of racing with the team entering seven different classes in Kansas.
