MINNEAPOLIS -- The Golden Gophers are set to compete against Big Ten Conference foes at a pair of meets this weekend with members of the Minnesota track & field team in action at the Big Ten Indiana Invite #3 in Bloomington, Ind., on Friday night and the Husker B1G Invitational in Prairie View, Texas, on Friday and Saturday.

About the Husker B1G Invitational
The Husker B1G Invitational will be held Friday and Saturday in Prairie View, Texas on the campus of Prairie View A&M. The Gophers are scheduled to compete in the sprints, jumps, hurdles, throws, and multi-events against B1G foes at the two-day competition.

About the Big Ten Indiana Invite #3
The Big Ten Indiana Invite #3 is set for Friday and Saturday at Indiana's Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex. Members of the Gopher men's distance corps are set to race on Friday night.

Last Time Out
Minnesota's distance corps saw its first action of the outdoor season at the Big Ten Indiana Invite #2 last Friday, and the Gophers closed out the meet with five top-three finishes. Bethany Hasz led the team with the lone event title of the evening, clocking an outdoor career-best time of 15:43.58 to improve on her own Minnesota program record and win the women's 5,000 meters in her outdoor debut. On the men's side, Khalid Hussein finished third in the 5,000 meters, recording an outdoor PR of 14:39.41. Abby Kohut-Jackson led the Gophers in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a third-place finish in 10:17.53, just shy of her career best (10:15.14). Owen Hoeft was just shy of making the Gophers' all-time list in the men's 1,500 meters as he ran a career-best time of 3:43.64 for third place. Minnesota's mid-distance women secured a runner-up showing in the 4x400-meter relay as Sophie Schmitz, Erin Reidy, Ava Hill, and Hannah Constable ran 3:54.52 for second place.

Outdoor Records Falls
Allison Gerads set a new Minnesota program record in long jump at the Big Ten Florida Invitational with a career-best mark of 6.45m (21-02.00). Gerads improved on the previous Minnesota program record of 6.44m (21-01.50) set by Todea-Kay Willis in 2011; she also improved on her own previous outdoor long jump PR of 5.55m (18-02.50) by nearly an entire meter. Amira Young won the 200 meters at the Big Ten Florida Invitational with an unofficial Minnesota program record time, clocking a wind-aided (+4.1) time of 23.44 seconds in the 200 meters to tie Minnesota's oldest program record held by Jane Oas since 1976. Most recently, Bethany Hasz improved on her own Minnesota program record in the 5,000 meters, clocking an outdoor career-best time of 15:43.58 at the Big Ten Indiana Invite #2.

Indoor Records Fall
The Gopher men recorded all-time top-10 marks in six different events during the indoor season, including two program record performances from Alec Basten, who set new Minnesota records in the 3,000 meters (7:52.05) and 5,000 meters (13:32.98). On the women's side, the Gophers recorded all-time top-10 marks in 14 events and broke two program records as Amira Young bested her own Minnesota record in the 200 meters (23.16) and Bethany Hasz improved on her own Minnesota record in the 3,000 meters (8:59.37).

2021 NCAA Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships Rewind
Led by eight points from NCAA runner-up and First Team All-American Bethany Hasz in the 5,000 meters, the Gopher women scored nine points to tie for 24th in the nation at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Amira Young earned two All-America accolades at the national meet, finishing eighth for a First Team All-America nod in the 200 meters and placing 13th for Second Team All-America honors in the 60 meters. Allison Gerads made a statement in her NCAA debut, scoring 4,063 points for a 10th-place finish in the pentathlon -- just 25 points shy of her PR of 4,088 points set at the Big Ten Indoor Championships when she won the B1G title. Jayla Campbell, Abigail Schaaffe, Val Larson, and Janielle Josephs finished 11th in the 4x400-meter relay, clocking a time of 3:35.70, just shy of their season-best 3:35.51 used to win the Big Ten title. Making her first appearance at the national indoor meet and second NCAA appearance overall, Big Ten champion Tess Keyzers finished 13th in weight throw with a mark of 20.36m (66-09.75 ft.) and collected her second NCAA All-America award of her career as well.

2021 NCAA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships Rewind
First Team All-Americans Alec Basten and Kaleb Siekmeier represented the Gopher men at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Basten ran a four-second PR and program record time of 7:52.05 to place fifth in the 3,000 meters just 24 hours after breaking the Minnesota program record in the 5,000 meters (13:32.98) to finish seventh in the event. Siekmeier recorded a career-best throw of 22.10m (72-06.25 ft.) on his sixth and final attempt in weight throw to improve his mark at third on Minnesota's all-time list and secure a seventh-place finish at the national meet. The duo combined to score eight points for the Maroon & Gold, landing Minnesota in a tie for 25th in the team standings.

2021 B1G Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships Rewind
B1G Women's Indoor Coach of the Year Matt Bingle's Gophers won the women's program's fifth indoor and eighth overall B1G team title behind eight event crowns. The Minnesota women scored 138 points to cruise to the team title and defeat runner-up Michigan by 58 points. Amira Young won both the 60 meters and 200 meters while Abigail Schaaffe won the 600 meters and joined Jayla Campbell, Janielle Josephs, and Val Larson to win the 4x400-meter relay. Allison Gerads (pentathlon), Bethany Hasz (3,000 meters), and Tess Keyzers (weight throw), and the distance medley relay team of Anastasia Korzenowski, Larson, Libby Halbmaier, and Abby Kohut-Jackson all finished as event champions as well.

2021 B1G Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships Rewind
On the men's side, the Gophers finished fifth in the team standings with 70 points led by Owen Hoeft's Big Ten title in the mile and runner-up finishes from Ben Psicihulis (600 meters), Kaleb Siekmeier (weight throw), and the 4x400-meter relay team of Jade Reicks, Collin Sieffert, Grant Fuller, and Psicihulis.
